Now, this is going to sound off the wall, but get this...after being a vegetarian for nearly 15 years and not being able to walk past a butchers, let alone handle meat; I have suddenly found I can cut up and prepare the stuff !!!!

I will never eat it again for ethical reasons, but I actually carved bits of roast chicken for the cat.

I totally shocked myself....so what aversions have dropped away for you since releasing am curious :)

I was thinking exactly about what Tom mentioned when I read Lisa's post. When I read Lester saying that the first time, I thought "Wow, this is where I give up releasing. No way I will become a vegetarian. Meat, including red meat, is very healthy for me". And it actually is healthy for me, doctors proved that (of course they didnt know I mostly eat eggs, red or white meat. When they checked my heart and blood stuff and it was more than good I told I have a balanced diet).
Anyway, at the retreats I would observe Larry and people who were "higher on the path" (I don't believe in this expression, as we are all Free already. I just don't have a better one.) to see if they were all vegetarians and I should drop this releasing thing. I am not sure about Larry, but I could see that there's no rule for the others. The ones that were vegetarians just felt better that way. Then I was OK.
Now, more than 2 years later, and after my scary cigarette dropping ( I didn't want to stop smoking), I can see it drops by itself (now I will contradict this phrase below for clarification :) ).

"When I spot an aversion, I usually try to spot which want it's coming from, then I let it go. But I haven't noticed yet aversions that drop by themselves."

Lilar, the aversions (or attachments) don't really drop by themselves. It only looks like that because you don't have to release directly on them for them to vanish. This is the effect of the real power of releasing, which is releasing on the 5 wants. Doesn't matter what is the topic that brings the want up. When you release it you are, as Larry and Lester say, "releasing throughout the whole AGFLAP chart". None, absolutely not one of my really strong aversions or attachments, like cigarette and my allergies, that dropped were dropped because I worked directly at them. Not even once I released on cigarette smoking or healing my allergies.

That's why also Larry mentions he could do a retreat on rugs. Doesn't matter the topic, as long as you are releasing Step 3-wise.

Per, if you come to Brazil, go to a "Rodizio". It costs about U$11,00 and it is all you can eat. Everytime an american comes here (I don't know about europeans) that's the first thing they want to go to. It is mainly about meat, lots of different types, but there are a lot of salads, carbs and sea food too. Any vegetarian that can be around meat can have fun there too.
But, as your parents live here, you probably know that already.

You can also go to Texas or Florida and pay U$60,00 to eat the same thing in the brazilian rodizio's there, just not as good.

Yeah actually they have told me that when they were in Brazil they ate meat "all the time" (they said that people in Brazil love meat), and it was top quality meat too! I see some of the photos from that time, and there are a lot of photos of meat on grills :D

Yes, we call this meat on grills "churrasco". This is everyday food in some states. And it is also what myself and my friends do to celebrate Christmas and other special dates.

Heres an interesting thing. My cousin has non identical twins (she has been a veggie much of her life)but didnt wantb] to influence the children.

So, she let them choose, and get this, the little boy chose things like humus, veg and fruit, the little girl went for the meat all the time. They are 7 now, one a vegetarian the other not.

I wonder if it is something to do with cell division of twins pre-birth..another wonder of the universe...

Good to see you are a Hootless Screw now Mario :) :) :)

Hehehe, yes, I got a promotion! I am not having a lot of time after I became the last one in my department, that's why it took me some time to change my name. Work is very relaxed, but the customer I am spending my time with blocks internet access. It will be like this until Christmas, internet access only when I can "steal" a wireless connection somewhere.

It's cool what you said about the twins. I think it also has to do with being presented with the option of being a vegetarian, which doesn't happen that much around here. I only found out that some people didn't eat meat when I was about 14 years old. Before that I thought that it was something people would do only in movies or for some religious reason. So, before attending my first retreat in 2007, I only met one vegetarian for 10 minutes in 1988. And at school I learned that people needed meat to survive because of protein. Maybe that's why one brazilian tv celebrity said this "great statement": "yes, I am a vegetarian. I only eat chicken, fish, seafood and eggs. Red meat no, only some times." This I can handle :)

Mario: Looooool We all can handle that loooool My roomate in the campus when I was in college didn't like red meat; I can't tell you how many times I took her steak. I always thought I was a carnivore but now I no longer eat red meat if I have the choice, but it's more for health reasons than anything else.

eeeeeek - I just discovered another aversion! It drives me insane when some I know choose to label themselves as a 'veggetarian' but they eat fish!!!!

Can I let that go??? Just for now ok!! :)

Hmmm I would starve then if we had a hootless meet up in Brazil! Per would be happy though, he hasn't 'buffet-ed' around Brazil YET....

Yes, with the twins I mentioned they are both iincredibly healthy, rarely get colds etc...I guess they both ate what was right for them....
